The Calderwood Larder Now Open!
As you will be aware, in recent months we have been busy putting the finishing touches to Calderwood’s latest community asset – ‘The Calderwood Larder’.
We are pleased to confirm the café will be run by The Larder Cook School. The Larder Cook School is a long established social enterprise in Livingston, which employs professional chefs and aims to encourage and support young people to learn to cook, both to develop their own skills and to encourage them into jobs in the hospitality industry.
Angela Moohan, Founder and Manager of The Larder, said: “The Larder is delighted to be opening our latest café concept at Calderwood, where we hope to combine new opportunities for young people with a welcoming café for new owners on the estate.
“Every community needs a heart, and we would hope The Calderwood Larder could become the heart of this new community."
The Larder Cook School and Stirling Developments recognises the delivery of this fantastic new asset at Calderwood would not have been possible without the support and accumulative efforts of a wide number of parties.
On Friday 25th May, ahead of the official opening, Stirling Developments invited all involved in the delivery of 'The Calderwood Larder' to a special preview of the cafe where workers were able to admire their efforts and residents could catch a first glimpse of the finished result. Councillor Dave King was in attendance and conducted the opening ceremony in the glorious sunshine.
Stirling Developments sincerely thanks everyone for their dedication and hard work in making 'The Calderwood Larder' a truly special place.
The Calderwood Larder can be found at 1 Calderwood Square, East Calder EH53 0GH.
